Hi
Has anyone had this happen? We dove on Sat in Pearl Lake IL. Didn't go deeper than 40' anytime. About 2 days after the dive I got a soreness in my ear. No loss of hearing, but sore when you touch the inside of your ear. I have a tendancy to bite down/through my mouthpiece. I went to Dr and he checked my ear. He said the only thing he could see is that I have more blood vessels on the surface (eardrum?) of my inner ear. Ear drum response was normal and he perscribed drops. 4 days later still sore to the touch. Could it be the pressure of biting through my mouthpiece? Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Did you tell your doctor what you are doing? I'm not a doctor
but it sounds like acute otitis externa to me. (infection of the ear canal).
Happens occasionally in lake or quarry diving. (happened to me).
Topical antibiotics usually take care of it. Thats what it sounds like
to me. Hope this helps. Dive safe!

Hi!
He perscribed some drops for it. I'm hoping that is all it is.
