I'm a Fish!
As it has happened so many times in the past we got another vehicle into the yucky waters of Fernan Lake. But the twist to this one is there is no team page out. Fortunately the shift it happened on just happened to have three divers on patrol and I wasn't one of them. :D

A 17-year old female was coming off the mountain, headed for town, in a condition other than sober. In fact her condition was such that if you wet her lips and placed them on a mirror she would have stayed there babbysitting herself all night.

The speed limit around the lake is 25 mph and at that speed it's hard to get into trouble. But her alcohol courage let her attempt to make a very sharp right hand corner just a bit to fast. Fast enough to let the SUV, she thought was an Indy Car, travel 95’ through the air before landing in the lake.

She almost hit several fishermen who witness the accident and called 911.

The witnesses said the SUV floated for approx. 30 seconds before sinking giving the teen time to kick out the driver’s window. Had she not been wearing high heels this may have had a very different outcome. She was able to use the spikes to smash the drivers side window. But being drunk, dazed and confused she started swimming away from shore and into the very dark lake. But the yelling from people on shore got her to turn around and head for shore.

Now for the Paul Harvey “Rest of the story”.

Do you remember the gal that was going to commit suicide, in that same lake, last year but the team got to her before the attempt? Same young woman. Sense our last encounter with her she has Overdosed and cut her wrists. This gal is bound to do it one of these days and we won’t be there to get in her way. But for now she has to settle for a DUI and some jail time.

Here's the turn. She was going west (right to left).

As you are well aware, the jails and prisons are not filled with Rocket Scientists!

Are you certain this wasn't another attempt and she changed her mind again? Immediately after people attempt suicide, they sometimes tend to recognize that perhaps it wasn't the best idea!

She goes into lockdown at the hospital every time she pulls one of these stunts. But the folks in the white shrink-wrap coats say there is nothing wrong with her. If they didn't have the coats on they would be admitted!

Then we the victims do end it they just say we did everything we could. They sure did, admit on a 72 hour police hold and release 1 to 24 hours later. The law says 72 hours but it's rare to keep them that long.
