in case y'all aren't aware, there is an ongoing research project being run in conjunction by 2 entities, BlueCORE - BLUE CORE A.C. | Facebook and the Spotted Eagle Ray Connection - Spotted Eagle Ray Connection | Facebook
... I think a Cozumel reef conservation group is involved as well.

they are seeking photos and videos of Spotted Eagle Rays from Florida to Cozumel and throughout the Caribbean, I believe.

they are tracking the movements of the animals as well as population numbers.

send them a photo or vid of a ray showing all or most of the spots on their backs. (eagle ray spots are like fingerprints, no two animals are alike).

they will give you photo credit for helping with the project. click on one of the 2 links above for more info, if you are not on Facebook, both have websites as well.

thanks!

Thanks for the links. I've sent a couple of photos from last years trip. I'm still learning the ins & outs of FB but I was only able to add 1 photo per message.

be sure to give them as much info as you can. date, or month, at least time of year & location (dive site if possible, not just coz.), they are tracking migrations, so this info in valuable.

Can you provide an email? I got one good shot from Roatan-2015 but I do not have FB account.

FB Web page says eagleray.connection@gmail DOT com.

I was able to supply all of that info & did.

Sent 4 photos.

Well the email - eagleray.connection@gmail.com (eagleray.connection@gmail.com) bounces as undeliverable. Address was not found at destination domain. I checked it against the face book page and it is what is shown on the page for one FB link.

At the FB page I wrote my info & then uploaded a photo from a set showing the same Eagle Ray (or pair). After that I added a comment & another photo & then a second comment with another photo. This allowed me to add 3 views of the same ray. I'll post there next & see if they can supply a correct email address for your photos.

They have just requested high res files for one of my sets. The email address given is

eagleray.mexico@gmail.com
