Hello everybody! Just bought a canon G12 with ikelite DS 161. I was thinking about using my Sb105 as second
strobe in slave mode without any sync cord.
Does somebody knows if this is possible as far as syncro between stobes is concerned? And do you think the
power and the color temperature difference is too big for a good shoot?

Thanks and good dives to everybody!

yes.. the only problem is that unfortunatelly I won't have chances of diving untill september and I have a buyer
for the sb105... he gave me time untill the end of july.. so if there are good possiility to get the thing working I will keep the strobe...

A lot will depend on how you want to use the 161. If you are doing TTL which involves a pre-flash then the SB105 will trigger on the pre-flash and most likely not be able to recycle fast enough to get the main strobe pulse. If you are using purely manual on the camera with no pre-flash then it will work. My take on the color temperature mismatch is that a lot will depend on what you are shooting and your tolerance for colors that are slightly "off". For me I wouldn't personally worry about a mismatch in color temp. Power wise I don't know how many adjustments the 105 has but diffusers are easy to make.
