Has anyone tried this or have any comments on how well it might work:

Oly C-5060 in pt-020 housing

Strobe 1: FL-20 in pfl-01 housing, TTL via cable connection, set to TTL AUTO

Strobe 2: YS-25AUTO triggered by fiber optic cable from camera internal flash, setting 1

I set the strobe to Aperture priority, flash to internal + external flash, and took some test shots in the mirror. I could see both strobes firing at about the right time. However, I did not really have a chance to see what would happen to exposure.

Theoretically, the FL-20 is being set via TTL from the camera while the YS-25 is taking a reading from its light meter, and also trying to set its power output.

Any comments before I actually try to take this setup into the water?

In hopes that this info may be of use, here are my results so far:

a) YS25AUTO would not reliably trigger from ambient flash. I had to string a fiber optic cable from the YS-25 (strobe 2) to the pfl-01 (strobe) housing. This is not the most robust setup since I now have a fiber optic cable strung in between the two strobes, about 6 inches above the camera.

b) I ran the YS-25 AUTO on setting 2 to sync properly with the fl-20. However, I am not sure that the AUTO function is working on all shots, so in some cases, the 2nd strobe is brighter than the primary strobe (which is being throttled via TTL).

The story continues ...
