I just ordered one to give the BP/W thing a try. Right now I have the DR Travel wing which supposedly doesn't work with BP and a DR Rec Wing which has about 20 more lbs of lift than I need. Not to mention I'm not super sold on the whole gusset thing and trapped air.

The Torus looks like a very cool donut wing. Can you use a DSS Torus wing with a Dive Rite BP/W? Anyone doing it?

Yes, I've used it with my DR plate ...

Funny you should ask that...

I was looking at the DSS Torus wing, with a DSS Backplate and a DiveRite Transplate harness.

I like the 26# Torus very much, and DSS's backplate is flatter, with thermoplastic grommets molded into the holes the webbing passes through. (I'm not sure if this matters in the long run, however, I *do* know that cloth rubbing against hard cut steel eventually wears, even *with* deburring -- and smooth plastic is much more forgiving).

Jury's still out on the harness, however, I like the adjustability of the Transplate (my exposure suits change, between salt/fresh, warm/cold, so I prefer the adjustability), and I like the stainless cam on the waist.

BKP,

Our wings may work on other plates, in fact if you use a STA almost all plates will work. If you want to realize all the benefits of our system it's best to use the DSS plate with a DSS wing.

If you want a DSS Wing and DSS Plate you should consider buying a complete single rig, including the Hogarthian harness kit. Why? It's a better deal. The discounts on a complete rig are substantial. If you don't like the Hogarthian Harness you can always buy some other harness.

Tobin reminded me I didn't ask my question correctly. Can you use a DSS wing on a DR plate without an STA, only using cam straps?

Oh, I agree entirely. That's why I'm pretty set on the DSS Torus *AND* SS Plate... I've done quite a bit of homework, and they're definitely a matched pair...

This, however, is something to consider. If I do the complete singles rig (with the Torus), I'm assuming the price beats component buying. I can do another adjustable harness, and still have the Hogarthian to "grow on me."

(God, I love those toys...!!!)
