DSRV in Morro Bay

I was in Morro Bay, California last week and was astonished to happen-upon the retired Avalon, DSRV-2 (Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle) in a parking lot. The Central Coast Maritime Museum Association is working on getting her indoors and properly displayed.

I love going there. They always seem to have some historic vessel in that lot. There is a "diving museum" shop down the street with a full hardhat setup and lots of vintage gear. Also, one of my favorite dive sites is across the street in front of the USCG office, the North T-Pier.
