I am getting a DUI suit soon. DUI can be a bit pricey, but they are great suits in my opinion. I tend to hunt lobsters during season and also teach scuba though so I wanted something that is strong and durable. There are many alternatives, I just am opting for DUI.
The CF200 is the top of the line DUI suit, but the CLx 450 or CLx 50/50 is a close 2nd. I am personally going with the 50/50. The downside to the CF200 is that it can take FOREVER to dry the outside... I have had friends tell me it took nearly 2 days in some cases. The crushed neoprene is very dense and just does not shed the water as quickly as other material (eg trilaminate, cordura, etc). It also happens to be VERY durable though.
The CLx50/50 has the same material on the bottom half as the CF 200 (crushed neoprene), but the top half is cordura (same material used in many BCs) that will dry faster and not weight as much when you have it hanging at your waist during surface intervals.
Make sure you look at customizing options vs off the rack ones too... Adding personal touches will really add value - eg pockets, relief zippers/p-valves etc.
Good luck in the long road to research.
