Hello All;

I am about to start diving steel doubles (100's) and I d like to follow the DIR configuration as much as possible. Now, this is the question: Since I am diving steel double and I live in Miami would it be an overkill to use a drysuit in summer just for the buoyancy or I d better stick with a double bladder wing and use a wet suit in summer? Any of you dive dry OW in summer here in Miami ?

Double bladder wings are not recommended, if you are trying to follow the DIR configuration. Steel doubles require redundant buoyancy, and that's generally a dry suit. You can dive a dry suit in warm water, just with a minimal undergarment.

If you prefer to dive wet in the summertime, another option is a set of doubled Al80's.

ditto to above the dry suit keeps you dry. There are minute thermal propeties. It is the under garments that keep you warm. Obviously your weighting will be different with less under garments. However with everything else you are carrying it should be minimal.
