Hi guys,

I'm about to get my first dry suit but since money is an issue as always I was looking for a used suit. As I live in Sweden the second hand market is quite limited and often the sellers live too far away to go and try it on so I want to ¨be as sure as possible the suit will fit. Currently I am looking at a trilam suit called Grand Nordic which I can get a decent price for I think. There is a pic of the suit at this link:
http://195.149.157.9/ad_pics_new/54/54202_sml_s.jpg

together with the suit I also get dry suit gloves, Orion undergarment and wet suit gloves.

Now the question is does anyone know anything about this suit? What make is it? how old? is it any good? The one on the pic is not the one I was thinking about getting. The one I´m looking at only has 8 dives and is in tiptop condition.
Any info regarding this suit would be appreciated. (as for the size it seems right, boots are my size US10 and the previous owner is only 5cms taller than me and just 5kgs heavier)

Query number 2 is about the undersuit. The one he is selling along is called Orion something and is a fleece suit I think he said. Is fleece totally inferior to Thinsulate? This is quite a big expense for me but I really want to get a suit asap. as I might start my DM course in a few weeks.

I have also looked at another suit which I really fancied from the pics I have seen it is a Ursuit heavy light FZ and can be seen here http://www.ursuk.com/ursuit/www_en/sukellus/index2.html only thing is lengthwise it´s okay but the boots are size 42-43 and my normal shoe size in trainers is 44?
I reckon this will then be too small or are the boots sizes usually larger compared to normal shoes?

Ok thanks for any input guys.

I don't know about this particular suit...

I dive a trilam suit (DUI TLS350) with a fleece undersuit in 52 degree F water in Monterey, and I'm not cold at all. As for whether thinsulate is much better than fleece, I've heard so, but haven't experienced the thinsulate to know for sure.

I would not get a suit where the boots are small for your feet.

Good luck!
