My mouth gets so dry after awhile underwater that my throat is almost painful and I feel like I absolutely need to swallow or start coughing. What are the tricks to avoiding getting such a dry mouth while diving. Right now its the single most unpleasant thing in my diving.

you can swallow, just be carefull that your not asending while you do it cuz you might caus lung overexpansion injuries

also, you can buy a humidifier for your incoming air, i've never used one but its supposed tro make the air ver nice and moist

the only other option is getting for air fills here in florida where the hummidity is like frikin' 80% and you feel like you just same out of a steam bath after being outside for 10 minutes

a biofilter can help a lot

Apollo makes the "humidifier" that D1V3R is talking about. There are several issues that have been talked about on the board. Just do a search for bio-filter.

Swallowing and using your tongue to wet your mouth helps. I have heard of some divers using a tic tac or small candy to keep the saliva going.

D1V3R, the humidity in the air shouldn't make a difference in the air that is in the tank. That is why the compressor has a filter on it.

yah, i just had to take that chance to complain about the weather
if it wasnt for the diving i wouldnt even come near here, lol

Sherwood regulators have some feature that helps to reduce dry mouth. Seems to work better that the other regs I've tired. I also like a rsapberry altoid under the tongue
