I read an article about hunting a lobster that they called a dozer? It looked like a bugs tail with eye's. So I was wondering how do you measure one or do you have to? I am still very new to diving and don't have a motive for this question other than blind curiosity. :babycrawl

That looks alot like what was in the article. They root around the bottom looking for clams.

I think they're talking about shovelnose, also called slipper lobster.

In FL, there is no season, bag limit nor size restriction. You can't keep females bearing eggs, so be sure to look under the tail. You won't find any with eggs now, that happens in a few months.

Like Wayward said, just don't pull up a egg bearing bug and you're good to go with a Slipper/Shovelnose/Dozer(I've heard em called all three names).
