Hi Doug - We met at DEMA a couple of years ago. Just returned from Bonaire, where on my 9th dive on the third day of diving, about 20 minutes into the dive, my ATOM 2.0 began to malfunction. It had the Buddy 2-3 screen up and then would flash for a brief unreadable instant to the normal screen. It was unusable. I completed the dive, and the rest of the week, using my very old Oceanic backup computer.
When I surfaced from the dive the computer initially went to surface mode for the first few minutes and then went to flashing from "Normal" to "Gauge" to "Free" continuously. No buttons worked underwater during the dive or on the surface except for the backlight.
It would not download data and I removed the battery in an effort to reset the watch. Although I lost my data and the watch reset to 12:00, it went immediately back to switching continuously between the three modes. There is no evidence of any water intrusion or other problem.
I emailed customer service on Tuesday stating the problem and asking for an RMA or further instructions. I still have not heard back. I'm very concerned that this occurred in the middle of a dive and in the middle of a multi-day dive trip. Can you follow up for me on this.
Thanks alot.
Sincerely,
Jason
