I'm a Fish!
I came across this double tank band in the Trident catalog. It looks a simple way to increase the air I carry should I find a wanted o double up on 80s.

Was thinking it looks easy enough to set up two AL80s with 1st and 2nd stages/spg on each one. No Manifold.

Does anyone know where I can get one? Anyone have any experience with this band? Any thoughts?

Bigger tank is not an option nor is setting up permanent doubles. Am in the Philippines and AL80s are everywhere. Am not looking for a permanent solution. Just looking to set up doubles for recreational diving only. No overheads, no penetrations. Looking to increase my bottom time when taking photos. Won't be set up all the time. Only when I feel the need for more air.

These are known as travel bands by most. Any Trident dealer should be able to get them - Send Trident a note and see if there is a dealer in your area.

These are interesting. Might allow someone (properly trained of course) to occasionally use doubles without dedicating their tanks
entirely for doubles, especially if you're already diving a bp/wing with adequate lift. Not as secure as bands but on a non-overhead,
non-penetration type dive they may have some uses. I would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has used these.

I am also interested in the travel bands and find them hard to come by. A couple other manufacturers you may want to look for are OMS (travel bands) and AQUA EXPLORERS (velcro double bands) I see leisure pro sells the OMS. Not sure if they ship to the Philippines.

I've used the Aqua Explorers bands. They work fine.

Remember you're going to need a doubles wing as well! (I've known people get by using their singles wing with doubles but it's far from ideal)

Easiest way to carry extra gas is to sling an 80. No bands or new wing needed but not as elegant.

The name for this idea is Independent Doubles...To properly dive them you have to Breathe 1/3 from tank A, switch to tank B and use a 1/3 of Air, Switch to tank A and use another 1/3, then go back to Tank B for the next third of a tank, that way you are not overly heavy on one side more than the other....So, assuming 3000psi in each tank...use 1000psi (A), 1000psi(B), 1000psi (A), 1000psi(B), then you can start for the surface...In my opinion You are using 4000psi of gas or one AL80 and 1/3 of another...an AL40 pony would do the same and would be easier to mount to your AL80.
