I've also posted this on the Deco Stop so no need to respond to both if you are bi-forum like me :D

I'm looking at the Dominican Republic instead. I love wrecks and pinnacles.
If we go we will be diving with Pirate's Cove because they can support technical diving.
I want to spend my money on the diving. Any suggestions on where to stay? I found some cottages that seem nice but I am unfamiliar with the area and I have no idea what would be safe or nice. Would prefer not to stay at an all inclusive only because we will be spending most of the day diving and won't enjoy anything they have to offer.

I found this chalet in Samana that is pretty cheap: Samana vacation cottage rental - Chalet Tropical, 3 enchanting cottages into the last tropical paradise of DR

I read that it is out of the way. I just want someplace that is safe for us to leave stuff while we are gone all day.
