What is so wrong with diving solo? I did it the other day and I reallly don't think that there is such a big deal about it one way or the other.I always have my redundant air supply with me, and I didn't go any deeper than I planned to.

Check out the solo diver section. Many dive alone. Shhh, don't tell PADI....

I will dive alone on occassion. I will do a drift while my wife is in the boat, but I am alone in the water.

I don't think there is anything wrong with diving alone until you have a problem. (This is the part where you knock on wood)

I dont have a problem with it, but its not for everyone. You have to be really comfertable with your own skills. Even when I do dive solo, I dive real conservative.

Personally, I don't think there's anything morally wrong with it. Bad buddies can be bad, good buddies can be good and bad team procedures can insure that both are equally useless. It could probably argued that the best logistics for a dive depend on the objective and nature of the dive. If the objective is to be alone underwater then it would seem appropriate to do the dive solo.

I prefer to dive with others, but with my work schedule if I want to dive then sometimes I just have to go it alone.. When I dive alone I can also work on things that I normally can't work on when I'm with other divers, such as buoyancy etc.

Nothing

I did all of my PADI AOW dive alone when the instructor was hearding the other students because of the poor vis I went off without them and had a great time. I did the Nav, Deep, Wreck and so on alone it worked out good for me.
