Apparently, the people who caught that shark in Vanuatu were using a live dog as bait! I'm not a member of Peta or anything but that's just not right. You can sign this petition to help end it.

Not only signed it, but sent the link to everyone I know. That's just bloody barbaric. Someone should put those *******s on a hook and use them for live bait!

But there hadn't been any cats dumb enough to try and swim between the islands, so the shark hadn't developed a taste for cats yet.

It's not like these guys just randomly came up with the idea of using a dog for bait.

Why not use live bait? Live dog, live fish, live....why not. It worked didn't it.

What kind of dog was it. Was it a domesticated dog, or feral. The article doesn't specifically state that the dog was live. Just that a dog was used as bait.

Some cultures eat dog. Should we petition to ban that too?

Domestic dogs and cats gone feral can do considerable damage to a wildlife population, spread disease and pose a risk to humans.

Why kill a shark? it was doing what sharks do. Unfortunately, the residents didn't get the message that those were dangerous waters.

Maybe they caught the shark that committed the killings. Maybe they didn't.

Why no outrage against the senseless revenge killing of a shark?

I wonder what would happen if sharks had guns and "above water" breathing equipment...

Some cultures also still eat dolphins and whales. Doesn't make it right though.
