Does anyone remember a TV show that was based out of Hawaii back in the late
1950's .....I think was done in black and white.....and had an older chubby guy that was known for saying ...How r' ya, how r' ya, how r' ya.

He just about always wore the Hawaiian shirts and maybe a straw hat. It was a variety show.

WHAT WAS THIS GUYS NAME !!!???

I just cant remember his name and for some goofy reason it is driving me nuts.

Would you be thinking of Arthur Godfrey ???

He wore tropical shirts and played the ukelele.

But then, the Hi-waya-hi-waya-hi-waya sounds a bit like Jimmy Durante.

THAT'S HIM !!!!

Thanks man. I could just not rmemeber his name. But you are right on. It is interesting how sometimes you can not remember a dude's name and then when you hear it.....like why wasnt it there.

Jimmy was known for saying....Good night Mrs Mc Gillicutty where ever you are.

Arthur Godfrey.....yep, that is him.

It's good to be da old man . . .
(An obvious plagarism and paraphrase from "History of the World" by Mel Brooks)

could it be "HAWAIAN EYE" ...... a b&w series about private detectives set in hawaii durning the late 50s and early 60s

Nope 50...the Krak got it. I Googled to double check.

the K-rotchety Old Fart

LOL...I know the feeling Krak......but then too....being old aint so bad....sometimes it even beats the obvious.

or should I say....the "option"....

I'll bet Julius LaRosa will never forget Arthur Godfrey -- especially after Arthur fired him on the air for lacking "humility." Remember that?

(I don't, but I read about it a long time ago...LOL)
