I've experienced some pretty appalling dive schools in Thailand and Belize and have heard some horror stories (where no-one asks to see your qualifications, where novices are taken to 30m without training, where no buddy system is used, etc) eleswhere.
As a journalist, I wondered how common this was in places nearer to home, ie Red Sea, Turkey, etc.
Could anyone who has experience of bad practice, please get in touch?

He's a journalist, they have ethics...

In other words, it's a first post and that profession is known to make up facts to suit the story they need. I don't trust any journalist farther than I can throw them. They all have an agenda and I just have to wonder what the story is he's trying to run with.

I could be wrong and this guy could be an upstanding journalist just trying to inform the public, and if I am I'm sorry I misread you.
