Do you remember your first trip to Roatan? I do! It was my FIRST open water dive in the REAL ocean
I will confess...I was scared to death! I made my hubby/buddy SWEAR he would hold my hand and take care of me...can you imagine that?
Well, needless to say, the moment I performed my first giant stride entry and (finally) opened my eyes, I was AMAZED at what I was seeing. Since then I've been HOOKED - especially on Roatan. It's been a few years since then and we've been doing our best to dive our way around the world, but I can tell you...that wonder still exists every time I return to Roatan.
I am seeing it all again through the eyes of friends who are coming down to Fantasy Island with us to take advantage of the all-inclusive special in October. They are full of questions and are going through the same things I was feeling all those years ago. It's so great when we can give back some of what we've learned to new divers coming along after us. The effort is so worthwhile when you watch them experiencing the same sense of wonder you felt at the beginning.
We are already booked for another week at Fantasy Island in April, when we will be introducing the next two generations of our family both to Fantasy Island AND to the sport of scuba diving...life doesn't get any better!
Anybody else feel like sharing about their first Roatan dive experience?
(Donnad...your enthusiasm inspired me to start this thread!!!)
