I am have very recently been certified as a NAUI Divemaster (so recently infact, I don't have my card yet) and I really want to get a nice warm tropical job this summer, but I don't know where to start looking

any suggestions?

Congratulations on making DM. Check the NAUI website. Most agencies have listings for job openings.

Looked into that once. Without an OWSI card at least, along with diesel mechanic, a couple languages and boat handling experience, you might be able to get a job for free. Especially with no experience.

Someone with the above, in the tropics you are looking at, would probably make $12,000 a year. Of course, there is the diving and bikini watching...

Good luck
MD

Get your Instuctor - makes you much more marketable - most places will Hire instructors to do the same job as a divemaster - they can then use them in more areas of the operation.

Good Luck and Congrats!

Yeah, what Willer said!

I don't know of anyone who hires divemasters anymore - maybe a snorkel boat, but that's not what you did all that hard work for, is it? Anyway, congratulations - the DM certification is quite an accomplishment! Get all the experience you can in the meantime, even if it's working for free. Usually your dives are "free" that way and the real life training is invaluable!

Can't help you with the job hunt. But congrats on the DM!
