Today I meet with the owner/proprietor of my LDS and we are going to seriously talk about getting started with my DM! I am very excited. We just got back from a Fiji trip where I had to use my ReQ skills twice, once on my own and once with the owner/proprietor. Both were minor, please don't get too excited but necessary to ensure safety of HIS trip. This is the second trip with him and his LDS, and I believe I have impressed him with my diving and problem solving skills. In addition to the 2 ResQ situations, I fixed 2 dive computers (providing a battery for the owner/operator for a computer he rented on the trip from my emergency equip stash!), played underwater photographer PlaceOfInformation (took my PADI digital underwater photography book on the trip, loaned it out daily), helped someone learn texting on their new phone, etc...

As any of you that have organized and run a trip can vouch for, keeping 14 people happy is more than a full time job and I helped out - and loved it! I will find out today but I hope I have earned his trust. I believe I have because he sent me the invitation to further discuss the DM class. I am ecstatic because I wanted my DM to be a mutal thing for me and him/his LDS. I really like him, and I think he took a little bit to open up his trust, but let's hope I am there.

Congrats and good luck. Does this mean hes going to pay for everything? Be sure not to work for free.
