Odd question, but then again I have a hard time with English.

Raja Ampat seems to be the place all the liveaboards head to this time of year.

@divemonkeys: do you really find it reasonable to suggest Raja Empat to someone with less than 25 dives? I just booked a LOB and I was asked (from the operator!) for my dive experience because it shouldn't be a beginner's destination.

@funktup: why do you want to do your dive master? You want to become a professional diver? Do you have your AOWD and Rescue?

PeCaRi,
You're right I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to someone with less than 25 dives. Often times, though, logged dives don't equal # of dives. Also the question was awkwardly worded, and could mean recommending a location to their dive masters--as opposed to taking the divemaster training. So back off on the abject horror.

i have now 60 dives, my rescue and have done liveaboards. I want to my dive masters to be a better diver and have a better undersatnding and also to have the choice to do my IDC if i decide i want to be an instructor.

back to the question.........is there anywhere at the moment in Indonesia where the weather is good and the diving also. where if i decide to i could do my DM or will i have to wait till April/May?

Thanks

or would i be better off going to the phillippines?!!!!

You could go to the Phillipines, in the Visayas, where the diving is good almost all year long, and very good at this time of year and until May.
You would also find plenty of dive centers where you can do your DM. Just go to the Phillipines part of this forum, there are A LOT of experts there ;)

I didn't find the diving that challenging, though its hard to forget the skills I have. In fact, there were some wonderful pond like dives. I'd say it's more a question of being reasonably fit than advanced dive skills. Your biggest problem will be keeping your reg in mouth instead of dropping it in awe.

Pulau Weh and Bunaken/Lembeh are less affected by moonson.
We met DM/IDC students at Lumba-lumba (p. weh) and at twofish (bunaken/lembeh) and seem they're happy with their course.
Both are small budget dive resort with very pleasant atmostphere. Lumba2 is managed by a dutch couple Ton & Marjan - Two fish by Tina & Nigel a british couple live with their daughter in Bunaken. All are very nice persons. Tina is also a great instructor.
