I have yet to buy myself an external strobe and flash because of budget reason. And besides changing the white balance at different depths, etc, an alternative is to add a red filter.

I have checked out some red filters at the local dive shops and it seems to me that it shouldn't be a difficult DIY item. Has anyone tried to make one themselves? Or is there any tricks or special things in a red filter? Any comments welcomed.
