Made this for my 710is housing and will do the same with the S95 when it arrives. Can not post links yet but search Youtube for:

"DIY Focus/Videolight mount for underwater photography".

Got some spare flexible tube sections if anybody need some, 3-4 is enough for a housing.

I'm looking to put something like thiis together, one question. How is the mount connected to the housing.... has he glued it on?

Where did you get the flexible tubing from?

Living in the UK, do you know if this tubing might have some other name? trying to google it and can't seem to find it?

I have a s90 with Ikelite housing, have a sea and sea strobe. I have a Nano focus light that i've been wodering how to attach it for a while...a tutorial would be a HUGE help.
That video doesn't really show how exactly it's all been put together if that makes sense.

Hope you can help.

Look up Loc Line tubing loc-line.com/. Many aquarium shops carry it, as do machine-supply houses (used for cooling jets of liquid and air).

From watching the video it looks like he used 1/4" or 1/2" loc-line parts which can be ordered from Modular Hose.

I have used the 3/4" in the past to make strobe arms and can tell you they are very rigid when it comes to bending them. I would guess the 1/4" would suffice for this project.

It appears from the video that he glued the base link to the top of the housing.

My main concern with this setup is the bending of the arm for the light causing any flexing on the top of the housing thereby causing the housing to flood?

A quote from the video explanation, hope this answers some of your questions.

"Easy made mount for focuslight on housings or photo/video rigs. "Flexible coolant hose" are from a broken Black & Decker Snakelight but they can be found online. One piece of tubing is superglued to the housing."

As Gilligan points out, the tubes are pretty rigid. Solved this by sanding the base of every piece a bit. Makes them easier to put together/take apart as well. Only tried the setup in shallow water so far, it did not leak and light moves pretty freely. Not sure if mine are the 1/4" or 3/8" version or just a special dimension made for the Black & Decker Snakelight. Guess 1/4" would do fine for the Nano. Mounted the tubing to the lights with cable ties, had to cut and drill the tubing a bit to fit the profile of the lights.

Bought the light here: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330480408632&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

PM me if you need some tubing, got some to spare. Can help with putting it together as well.

Carl-Johan I like your gadget. I may put one on top of my G10 housing using the 1/4" loc-line.

After using the light to focus your lens do you push it out of the way before taking the shot so it's not in the photo?
