We'll be in COZ for a week starting 1/1. Wondering if other families will be there and diving with kids? It's a long shot, but I was thinking it'd be good to be teamed up on a boat that wants to avoid the deep dives. We have a 13 year old (that's surprisingly, very comfortable in the water and a confident diver, if that's possible at 13), but going to 80+ feet seems a bit much. We'll also have our 15 and 15 year olds as well.

Alternatively, I think we'll ask for a private DM for our family. Planning on diving with BA, but haven't committed yet. Staying up north.

Thoughts?

Dear H2ODoc,

We are completely full through January 2nd but Aldora Divers has openings starting January 3rd. We have 8 boats and generally always have a few beginner/youth oriented boats going out. Given that you may have 4 or more divers you would find a boat dedicated to your family. With a ratio of 1 Instructor to 6 divers we can provide the supervision appropriate for youngsters, or as mentioned a private DM is not a bad idea.

Even better we do pick up divers in the north hotel zone at the Villa Aldora. Not staying at the Villa Aldora means that we provide free bicycles to those staying elsewhere which makes it a nice short commute on a beautiful and safe bike path. Given that we take care of your dive gear there is no problem dragging gear back and forth on bikes.

No matter who you chose to dive with I urge you to make a reservation asap.

Thanks Dave - I'll shoot you a PM. Scratch that. I sent an email!

At many times we ended up with a private DM when we dived with Aldora a few years back, this was also during March break too. They took our son's 13 years of age quite seriously.

Hi, I signed up just to respond. We will be there 1/1-1/9 and have a 12 year old diving with us. She has 60+ dives and is very confident in the water, but being an only child she'd love to have another to dive with!

We have never had a problem with depth with her, as most dives have had a profile for beginners.

We are staying in town and havent chose a shop yet. Feel free to PM me.
