My wife has a shunt in her right ventricle of her brain that drains excess spinal fluid into her abdominal cavity, her neurologist "thinks" it would be okay for her to try diving? Has anyone heard of or had experience with this and knows if it is safe???

I would contact DAN.org and provide them with your wifes medical history. Unfortunately there are a lot of doctors that unless they work in the diving field or something related (chamber phyision),that are unaware of the the pressures that affect the body and how it relates to certain maladies, conditions, and medication.

Yes, contact someone at DAN and find a diving neurologist. If he says don't dive, then, by all means, don't dive. It could be your last one. Get the facts from an expert.
