This summer I plan on doing some diving in the St. Lawrence river around Alexandria Bay. I've done plenty of snorkeling around there, but I've never had the opportunity to dive there. I'm a beginner at scuba and was wondering if anybody had any tips for diving around there. I know there are bad currents around that area. I've seen whirlpools! I was just wondering if anybody had any experiences, especially any experiences with some of the many, many wrecks in the area.

Try the Ontario Freshwater Freaks forum on this site:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=54

Also check out www.ontariodiving.com you'll have to register to read anything and post but you might find your answers there.

Last but not least check out www.underwatercouncil.com this is the Ontario Underwater Council's website, be sure to check out the Shipwreck Directory for Ontario - you'll need Google Earth to view.

Hope some of this helps you out. I haven't personally dove this site so can't help you there.
