Hi everyone,

2 of us are hoping to visit the West coast of Thailand in mid-late Oct 2004 for some diving.

However, we know that the weather during this time is not the most predictable & that some dive operators might not even yet be open!

Is anyone out there reading this that might be able to shed some light on what I just mentioned above to help us decide wheather (excuse the PUN & typo) it's worth us visiting this area this year?

Plz could you include in your comments which:

- location: Tarutao, Lanta, Phuket, Koh Lak, or Similians
- & approx. dates/times you were there in 2004

We've been to this area in the past during Oct, but we're hoping for live-updated info. Thanks....

At teh West Coast the season has started already, so all diving shops at Khao Lak, Phuket and Koh Lanta will be open. Also the trips to the Similans have started already. At the moment there are not too many boats going yet, quite some start in November. Also the amount of boats going further North to Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock is very limited, because of the risk of high waves.

We have had some bad days last week, yesterday the weather was very nice again, just as it is today. That normally means, that the weather should improve now day by day, so diving should be possible anywhere you would like to go.
