I am looking for a reputable dive operation on St. Kitts or Nevis. Safety is a priority! The reason why I ask the question in this manner is that my friend got "certified" on Nevis a few months ago, but had never seen a dive table, did not have to pass the knowledge reviews, nor did he have to demonstrate scuba basics such as buddy breathing, CESA, knowledge of gear, or hand signals. They basically strapped a tank on him and took him down. And yes, it was a full scuba course, not a resort course. :shakehead It boggles my mind! So, without naming any particular dive operation, the one he was certified at does NOT get my vote when it comes to booking a dive. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm staying on Nevis, but a ferry ride to a dive op. on St. Kitts is no problem.
