I am planning to visit Queensland (specifically Cairns) next July/August with my family of stubborn non-divers. I was wondering if there were any dive operators I could dive through, hopefully with other newbies/foreigners, and if so, any recommendations for a certain place? Maybe even one that also takes non-certified people into the water (just in case I can convince someone.) Sadly, I need to stay away from liveaboards as the family may get a bit angry if I ditch them all day every day to dive :cool2:

Thanks!

All GBR operators will cater for Introductory Divers Coel, and when you dive it will be in a group of 6 normally with a guide.

Recommendations really come down to :

For the Diver..... where you have previously dived, your expectations and budget.

For rest of the Fam..... is everyone prepared to get in the water and snorkel, any children involved, weather conditions at the time and how rough weather affects the group regarding travel. ( One day trips count on 4 Hrs of Boat travel )

Cheers Andy

I'll recommend Poseidon out of Cairns/Port Douglas... was there recently and they were a top charter.
They'll cater for any of that diving you're talking about and run snorkel tours off the same boat, hence i dived and the missus snorkeled.
