Hi,I'm looking to travel in october outside Australia. Looking for something near by,reasonably cheap and with good things to see. What would you suggest?I was thinking Fiji and Vanuatu.I had a look at dive adventures site and their prices are so expensive. I want to organise travel and accomodation and diving separetly through a dive shop in the area.Anyone ever done it?I'll be going on my own!

Went to Fiji inSeptembe rlast year.

Virgin blue flight for about $400 return, stayed in Tsulu near Pacific Harbour (reasonable accom, with great facilities) and dived with one of the local dive companies. Dive pricing was about $100 for a double boat dive - which is cheap compared to what we pay in Sydney on say, the Pro dive boat, especially considering there is so much more to see.

Oh, and don't fall for the "you have to spend your first night in Nadi" crap. It's a waste of a day. the afternoon is more than enough time to drive to Pacific Harbour. Or to catch a bus.

z..
