Is there any place to dive near Brasilia, the capital city of Brazil ?
I don't know the city and I've seen in google maps that there are a few lakes near.

Brasilia is surrounded by the state of Goias, which is landlocked, so local diving is in fresh water lakes and rivers. There are two places that people visit a lot sort of nearby (which is relative in a country as large as Brasil), and those are Mara Rosa Lago Azul and Pousada do Rio Quente.

Lago Azul is a flooded gold mine about 350-400 km from Brasilia. It goes quite deep (up to 70 m), and it has had stuff like a VW Beetle thrown into it to create interest.
Pousada do Rio Quente is what it sounds like--a lake fed by a hot water river. It's pretty shallow, but quite large with lots of fish, and is located maybe 250 km from Brasilia.

You'd probably have to contact a Brasilia-based dive shop to see if they have trips scheduled to these places that you could join.

You may dive in Paranoa lake, right in the middle of the city but there's nothing really interesting near the dam, the most known dive site. There's an old village covered in water, but haven't had the chance to dive there yet. (http://g1.globo.com/brasil/noticia/...a-foi-uma-vila-na-construcao-de-brasilia.html)

Pousada do Rio Quente is a water park/vacation resort with nice thermal waters. They've sunk a small wooden boat and populated the diving area with huge fish to make it interesting. A nice spot for freediving and snorkeling too.

Mara Rosa and Niquelândia are some well known for being nice diving places and you'll find plenty of videos in youtube. Never been there.
