I have been reading about La Paz, the Sea of Cortez, Cenotes, whalesharks in Holbox, Cozumel etc..

I like to see big fish in warm water and rather quiet places.
Is the Sea of Cortez worth the long journey?
If going to Yucatan where to base yourself for whale shark snorkelling and around Cozumel and in the Cenotes while avoiding the crowds?
Or better choose two locations?
Should I book it all in advance?
