What is the procedure for gaining access to dive lanier? Do you need to purchase a pass? Do you need to show someone your cert. card? What is the procedure?

thanks!

1. Get tanks filled by LDS
2. Pay $4 dollars at park gate
3. Dive

Wow! Do park authorities ever ask what you plan on doing?

Never had anyone ask anything.

Sometimes the rangers ride by and we usually "chit-chat" for a couple of minutes. That's about it. Make sure you have a dive flag out though when diving and your all set!

Of course during the summer time you may feel a tug on your "Diver Down" flag or float.

The yahoos up there don't know what the diver down flag means and they don't seem to understand the words "Diver Below" on SMB's.

One of our dive buddies caught a pontoon boat last spring.

I know exactly what you mean by yahoos...I'm used to trying to avoid stupidity on I-85 every day.

Is is true that when Lanier was created they essentiall flooded a town or at least a street. And, can that stuff be seen on a dive.

Or is this just lore ??

as far as i know they cleared everything before the built the lake, there may be a few houses and such, there are roads under the lakebed.
