A Diving Adventure In Thailand

STORE CREDIT 149,449 Thai Baht --> Value AUD$6500

(According to current exchange rates at time of listing)

I am selling a store credit for Aquanauts Dive Centre, a PADI 5-Star Career Development Center in Pattaya Beach, Thailand. This store credit can be used for dive equipment and training. Aquanauts can take you from a never before diver (or whatever your current level) to an Open Water Scuba Instructor in just a few short months.

I undertook an internship with Aquanauts and, for various reasons, am unable to complete the program. Therefore, I have a store ÅÈift certificate that can be used anytime until Nov. 28, 2009.

This credit IS transferrable and legitimate - if you're in doubt you can confirm this with Aquanauts Dive Centre directly.

The total credit is for 149,449 Thai Baht to be put towards internships, courses, dive trips, study materials or equipment. Please contact me for further specific details.

They gave you store credit????? I only thought dodgy electronic stores in england did that when you buy a peice of crap and they can't afford to give the money back...

What you should do is buy expensive top of the line scuba equipment.. like computers.. get it at 30% discount because after all it's not your fault right .. then sell them on ebay easily and get your money back...

Thats just typical of your average dive shop in Pattaya. They probably realise it will be virtually impossible to sell, and within a time limit as well.
Having dived with this shop a few years ago and experienced a catalogue of serious safety issues, personally I wouldn't buy an o ring from them.
On top of that it is much cheaper to buy scuba equipment in Europe and no doubt other places in the world due to the large import taxes in Thailand.

I was shopping for a Suunto dive computer and compass and actually found Dumnam's in Bangkok to be around the same price as Europe for discounted quality gear (especially if you include shipping costs and VAT to Thailand from Europe). In addition, their service was great. I don't have any conflict of interest or commercial interest in any dive center or shop in Thailand (or anywhere), and I found Dumnam's great. They even shipped next day delivery from Bangkok to Pattaya for free.

In other words, this is an honest review/reply based on a recent experience. It is not cheaper, in all cases to buy outside of Thailand, unless you are hand carrying it in from a trip. I was really impressed with the prices and quality of service from Dumnam's and I think the only people who put them down are dive shop owners who don't want to compete with their prices and service.
