hey everyone, am currently slogging it out in the real world, but escaping in may to go and do my divemaster somewhere... Was thinking about the phillipines. Just wondering if anyone could reccomend anywhere good with fun people and as cheap as poss?? Was also wondering if anywhere did divemasters where you can work them off anymore??
cheers

You might want to shoot a PM to Scuby Dooby, He dives the Philippines a bit. I haven't seen him on the board since the beginning of Nov., but it might be worth a shot.

I'm doing Divemaster in the Philippines very soon. Sea Explorers and Seaquest have both been good to me. Sea Exporers has five locations and Seaquest has two. I've been diving the Visayas every year since '98.

If its cheap and good you want you'll find Moal Boal on the island of Cebu. Very comfortable diving at some of the cheapest prices. People are great. I recommend Quo Vadis Resort and Visaya Divers. been there 4x and maybe again next month.

I'll second that. Many ways to stretch your money & stay there, specially if you don't mind roughing it or working it off. Its about a 3 hour drive from the Cebu airport.

30 minutes away from the airport brings you to some of the best dive spots in Cebu as well. Several shops operate there and provide good training courses. Some of the pricier resorts/hotels operate there amidst more reasonably priced ones so make sure you check and ask around. For dive shops, try Aquaventure or Scubaworld. A google search should bring you to their respectives websites and rates.
