Been blessed to be able to go diving in Oman over the local Eid holidays. Pity the weather turned and we were only able to dive 2 out of the 3 days I had scheduled. None the less what an experience. Couple of new species and new coral formations etc. Will definitely be back there if opportunity allow.
I've added a (not so short - 40 min) video of the first day's diving for those who have time available.

I think it was a fairly priced, around US$ 1600 excluding flights. This was for a 4 night stay including meals, 3 days diving (2 per day) and car rental for the time. Since I am working in Qatar flights were cheap from here.
Dived with Dive Oman and stayed at the Millenium Hotel due to a lack of knowledge of the area. Marina is part of the hotel so it was conveniant.
But, knowing a lot more now I can do a trip for half the cost if I stay in a guest house and willing to drive more. I'll be going back in Sept with wife and kids and it will cost me less.
If it is in anyone's budget for overseas trip I will reccommend Oman. Will explore the mountains and natural oasis when we return. There is an abundance of natural beauty there.
