Diving in Lanta

My wife and I will be on Koh Lanta during the month of February and we want to do a few dives.

I have dived on the east coast of Thailand a fair bit and alot in Malaysia can you please list for me you top dive sites out of Lanta and why.

we really want to see Mantas.

Without question, the top dive sites out of Lanta are Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. I had a couple of divers there earlier this month who saw mantas.

Lanta divers have a very good reputation

Lanta divers are good but they are BUSY! their boats are packed out even when the other shops are quiet.

much better to go with one of the smaller operations who have less people on their boats.

Lanta is more expensive for diving as the boats have to go further to the dive sites than boats from Phi Phi.

Saw 2 mantas today at Hin Daeng, hin Muang as well as a leopard shark, 3 ghost pipefish and a seahorse.

we will be arriving in early Feb so will hopefull catch the tail end of the season before Saladan closes down.
