Cancun may be the most under-rated, and affordable, dive location conveniently located near the U.S. Of course, everyone hears about Cozumel, and it is great but we just came back from a wonderful Cancun dive trip. We hooked up with Mayan Aqua Divers run by Kurt Brueggerman. Excellent service, extremely knowledgable dive masters, and very safety conscious. We dove open water and a couple of cenotes (caves). Incredible! Kurt even got us a place to stay right on the beach in Cancun for a whopping $75 per night. Ocean view, air conditioned. Very pleased with the experience.
