hey,
i'm going to GC in july. I'm going to be staying at the marriot (west end). Can you guys recommend me any "must dive" sites? We will probably have time for 8 tanks. We're experienced divers and currently are active in south florida. We don't get a lot of sharks and walls in south florida so i guess i am looking for something like that. Also, i do not care for large dive boats/huge crowds... something small and limited is preferrable. In my experience the larger dive boats will just go to the convenient spots.

You have more sharks in S Florida than Cayman.(lived taught in both)

North Wall, east end (bit of a hike)

A good operator not a cattle boat.

Try diving with Ocean Frontiers www.oceanfrontiers.com out of the East End for at least one day of diving. It's an hour's drive from Seven Mile Beach to their dive shop (ask about their courtesy shuttle), but the East End experience is different from the West. East End diving is exciting, the walls are steep and the swimthroughs are tight and numerous. They do get a lot of sharks on the East End, but from what I heard, sighting go down as water temperature goes up, so you might be out of luck if you're going in July.
