My dad and I went to Cozumel this winter had really had a blast. We want to do it again this year, but my mother is interested in coming along as well. Mom's not a diver, she doesn't want to be a diver, and she is way too panicky and high-strung for diving to be a good fit for her anyhow. That being the case, Cozumel doesn't seem like the best choice of destinations since I didn't see much in the way of non-diving activities there.

That being the case, can I get some suggestions for diving destinations around the Caribbean or Mexico that she might also enjoy? She wants to do some snorkeling, and she generally likes exploring old cities, sipping coffee and people watching.

Your welcome to join Scubaboard for our annual Invasion. It is however in Cozumel this year, but that is really a good option for you and your family.
So far we have 80 members, friends and family that have booked. The event is being held at Hotel Cozumel. They have daily activities and entertainment nightly. We have over 20 nondivers who have booked the trip, so there will be others from the group around when the rest of us are diving. I have also put together a list of things to do on the Island for ideas on day trip activities.
We would love to have you join us. Check out the http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/in...61018-scubaboard-invades-cozumel-package.html
