So, I have a potential dive site. It is a shore dive from a well known beach. The only catch is that this beach is within sight(probably about 2500 ft) from a major airport runway. I am more curious about the "Homeland security" implications this might pose. Does anyone know of this being legal/illegal?

It's not really a "Great" dive site, but it is a great possibility for a place to practice.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

It depends if it's a restricted area or private property. If it's not don't worry about it. I don't think your going to take out many planes from the bottom unless.

Agreed. Call your local police or sheriff and ask if that is a restricted area...

its a public beach with swimming allowed, so i highly doubt its a restricted area...

In Hawaii there is a famous night dive with manta rays that is right off shore of an airport. Call the local police and find out, but more than likely if it's a public beach you should be okay. Just don't practice any Navy SEAL beach assaults in that area.
