Hi,is there demand for diving professionals in Australia?Do DiveMasters get paid here?A lot of dive professionals have diving as a main source of income? What are rough numbers they get paid?thanks!

in sydney, dive masters dont get paid.... free fills only is the norm.

hubby is an instructor and it pays for his toys..... he wouldnt be able to quit his day job and do it for a living in sydney

cheers

yep.... he occasionally does weekday course but he consistantely working 3 weekends out of 4

but, i hear places like prodive churns out 2 or 3 OW courses per week..... then lets the newbs loose on their way to qld

I think it depends on where you would like to DM or Instruct.

The Barrier Reef yes, but not extremely high, Newcastle or the Central Coast, It is a great 2nd job that doesnt pay a huge amount but something you love.

He then must have worked for 12,000+ weekends to afford his latest toy ;)

Advokat I have been a part-time instructor in Australia for 7 years, I don't know many instructors other than maybe Cairns (where you work like a dog) that don't have a second or third job. It just does not pay enough for Rent, food, booze and bills.

Cheers
