Does anybody know of any companies offering dive trips to Al Marawah Island Area?

For that matter is diving allowed around there as it is a nature resever of kinds??

Any infor would be much appreciated!

I've been trying to find this out as well, no joy as yet.

I will ask the guys at Empros tomorrow as they may know, I know you can get a permit from the Environment Agnency which costs about 170AED.

There is a feeling at the moment that the diving off AD should improve as the credit crunch has meant dredging has been curtailed which should improve things.

Well 170aed is still only about 70.00 us.
You can hop Jazeera Air to Sharm el Sheikh or Oman for that. THere is fantastic diving off Oman too!! Hell, drive. Gas costs nothing here. I pay 80cents a gallon for ultra premium..

Sometimes it is nice to find some good local places though. Can't recommend Empros enough after going out with them, went to a few reefs I've not been to off AD before. Plenty of fish life, obviously it doesn't compare to the East coast but was still a very enjoyable day.

Hopefully the cancellation of some of the dredging contracts around AD will improve the visibility in the local reefs.

I'm hoping the red tide will clear up on the East Coast soon, and the marine life will recover quickly.

just looked on the empros website and noticed that they charge 600AED for a 2 tank trip!!!! IS this what you paid with them or is their website wrong?
