I am off to Banda this weekend - will mostly be shooting on my Marelux rig, but i recently got a DiveVolk case for my iPhone and am getting a couple of Marelux video lights for it this weekend, and i plan to use it on some dives.

For those of you who are using a DiveVolk with lights - how much flotation are you using? I know this is going to vary from setup to setup - i just want to get a ballpark idea of what you are using with your lights: Will extrapolate from that to a starting point for my setup, and tweak on location.

There are a couple of YouTube videos about this. The thing is a boat anchor, and it takes a fat strobe arm (maybe two, depending on length) to get it close to neutral, more so with lights. I recently used two 6” no-name carbon arms with one 3k Kraken light and the DV tray, which made it manageable but not neutral. The “Platinum” model is even heavier, but the integrated filter arm and tray sockets are a significant improvement over the original. You might take a look at the UwaCam camera app—it’s got great features, especially for video, although macro is a pain with it. If you can get the external shutter trigger, it works very well.
