I plan on taking my PADI AOW checkout dives at Bluewater in Sept. Any PADI AOW students taken your checkout dives there with Divers Supply from Atlanta?
What dives other than the Deep and Nav dives, were done? If you can please relate your experience to me about what to expect diving at Pelham on the AOW checkouts, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Dove there weekend before last. Not bad viz for this area (25 feet or more at times) good depths (20-130+) water was warmer than Lake Lanier for the same depth profiles. What else you need to know? Great place for "local" diving.

I was at 2-mile this weekend...didn't see you...

I have some pictures in my dive log online, go to my website below.

I'm sorry I didn't make it up there Sat. I had to meet a friend at the gun show at the North Atlanta Trade Center. I was helping him pick out a new Glock.
I plan on going up there when I can get away this week on a weekday late afternoon maybe Wed. or Thurs. Not Friday, my son is really jacked about wanting to see the new Batman movie with him then.
Thanks for the feedback on Bluewater. Did you dive dry? I just love my new dry suit!

Yes, I dove dry. If I am going below the thermo I usually dive dry. Couldn't you tell form the valve in the middle of my chest and on my shoulder? :)

pity your friend doesn't have better taste in firearms :-)

Bluewater is fine, although in doubles the hike up the hill is a real PITA. I personally think it is the best commercial dive space around us. however, be aware that in the warmer months the viz in the upper parts of the quarry will get seriously damaged by the masses of students and others with poor anti-silting techniques.

deep it will remain fine.

steve and the folks who run it are good people, get to know 'em.

not sure who you plan on using for your instructor. I dive with a bunch of the doraville people and jack from Marietta on occasion. if you don't have an instructor yet, I have personally dove with Tim from Doraville (we are doing Tec together), he'd be a good pick.
