Divers for Heroes is a non-profit organization who help combat wounded vets find a new love, diving. They are based out of Lakeland, Fl. It was started by an Army veteran and his wife. You can do a search for Divers for Heroes or go to Home.

That is really great and wonderful that they took that upon themselves to set up that organization which helps the rest of us give back to our American heroes.

The International Association for Handicapped Divers for the Americas (IAHD-Americas.org) runs a similar program called Rotors to Regulators, where they are recycling old Army helicopters to become dive attractions, and training wounded and disabled vets to not only dive them but to be part of the preparation, logistics and sinking. Pretty amazing project!

Hoodlm13b and Dave - Both are such great organization which allow divers to get involved with disabled vets and with handicapped divers. Thanks for posting this but more importantly, thanks for all you're doing for both causes.
