I was lucky enough to have 4 days off and nowhere to go recently and decided to head over to the UAE and try this place I had heard about from Scubaboard and some mutual friends. So I emailed Scubaboards own Karin and told her what I was interested in and what I wanted to do. That was all it took as she took over from there. Now thats my kind of service I really don't like making the arrangements myself as she set everything up.
Now when I arrived I was a little surprised at how nice the Miramar Resort it was definitely a 5 star quality place. I found out that she had used some magic in getting a reasonable rate for me. The first day I walked into the shop and introduced myself to Karin it was apparent why she does what she does. She makes you comfortable from the minute you first meet her and after a tour of the shop ,you become comfortable with the shop and the procedures in place. The first day diving of diving involved three dives and they were close tot he resort so no long boat rides and i was OK with that. The divemasters they have on staff were excellent and very professional in all their actions from some of the best dive briefs and making sure we were all on the same page for the dive.
The dives we had that day were all local sites and we had good visibility and were very enjoyable.Now we did get blown out by some windy weather and the Coast Guard wouldn't let us go out and play,but the staff kept me informed and up to date on the weather. I look at the success of a weekend diving by not only the diving but how many new friends I make and this one was surely a success . So if you find yourself in the Middle east and need a place to go I can only highly recommend Paul and Karin and their staff at Divers Down
