A German recreational scuba diver found the grenade. While examining his find today in shallow water it exploded and killed the diver.

53m deep lake Ossiacher See is small and beautiful (although not the most popular spot for scuba diving). Unknown to many, in 1954 the British army dumped some 1,000 freight cars of Wehrmacht weapons into the lake. Recovery has been going on since then, but still a lot of bad stuff in there. Don't touch.
 
Wow. Sorry he died but he must have missed the memo that you never touch anything that even remotely looks like an explosive device, whether it be an land or under water.
